Summary: The Physician Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing all scheduling-related functions, including, but not limited to, the 24/7/365 onsite and remote physician staffing schedule, Add Pay shifts, Green Days, vacation time, payroll transfers, and analysis of physician statistics to support equitable scheduling. This role collaborates extensively with physicians and partners closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Analytics, IT, Credentialing, and other key stakeholders.
Essential Functions
- Efficiently and effectively enters and builds schedules for physicians and advanced practitioners within the RANT scheduling application(s).
- Facilitates approving and tracking requests for vacation time and additional earned time off.
- Coordinate physician swaps and payroll transfers.
- Accommodate provider scheduling preferences based on scheduling and business needs, when possible.
- Updates reports as needed and requested by Physician Scheduling Lead, Payroll Department, and Physician Scheduling Manager.
- Responsible for entering, tracking, updating and scheduling physician shifts, to include add-pay shifts.
- Complete scheduling requirements while minimizing unnecessary additional compensation.
- Stays informed about the credentialing, FTE, and leave status of each physician, using that knowledge to appropriately schedule.
- Provides information to new physicians about the physician scheduling process as needed.
- Develops strong relationships with physicians.
- Distributes the physician schedule to internal and external stakeholders, as requested.
- Demonstrated proficiency in administering and maintaining physician scheduling software.
- Capable of independently completing routine work while meeting established productivity standards.
Qualifications
Education: High School or GED equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience: Prior experience in medical environment preferred with min of 1 year scheduling experience
Skills/Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage competing priorities
