Hennepin Healthcare Department of Pediatrics is currently seeking a 0.8 FTE primary care physician to join our amazing team of providers. Within this position, we are offering the opportunity to become an integral part of our nursery team, as well as our primary care clinic''s downtown location.

The Department of Pediatrics at Hennepin Healthcare provides primary care of infants, children, and adolescents through young adulthood. We have a robust partnership with the University of Minnesota to provide expert specialty care, and in-house we boast a team of our own specialists in the areas of pulmonology, infectious disease, weight management, growth and nutrition, adolescent medicine, developmental assessments, pediatric psychology/psychiatry and gender and sexual health.

In addition to being a certified Level 1 pediatric trauma center, the Pediatric Department includes a state-of-the-art 9-bed pediatric intensive care unit staffed with an in-house intensivist hospitalist team, a 15-bed pediatric inpatient unit staffed by board-certified pediatric hospitalists, a 21-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit staffed with an in-house neonatology team.

Hennepin Healthcare prides itself on being an outstanding teaching institution, and our faculty is regularly awarded top teaching awards each year. Academic appointment to the University of Minnesota may be included in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive care of our patients from birth through young adulthood
  • Supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings
  • Participate in education of medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Engage in quality improvement and research projects
  • Participate in departmental meetings, division activities, and conferences
  • Provide care that is family centered, equitable, and trauma-informed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current (or eligibility for) license to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota
  • BC/BE in Pediatrics by time of hire
  • If BE, certification is required within 4 years of training completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and interest in quality improvement, research, and teaching
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
