Highlights
The Department of Ophthalmology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained Cornea Specialist to join our growing academic team. This faculty position offers an exceptional opportunity to combine clinical excellence, teaching, and research in a collaborative and innovative environment.


As a Cornea Specialist at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, you will:
  • Provide advanced medical and surgical care for corneal and external eye diseases
  • Participate in the education and mentorship of residents and fellows in our robust training programs
  • Engage in research initiatives tailored to your interests, with institutional support for academic advancement

  • A $100M, 165,000 sq. ft. standalone Eye Institute is opening in 2026 in Winston-Salem’s Innovation Quarter.
  • The four-story facility will house all eye services, surgical suites, research, and clinical trials—supporting 100,000+ patient visits annually.

Training and/or Experience Required
  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent)
  • Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology
  • Completion of a Surgical Cornea Fellowship
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina
