Opportunity:
Physician - Neurology

Job Details:
  • Serve as Chair of the Department of Neurology, overseeing all aspects of departmental strategic planning, growth, and operations
  • Lead the development and enhancement of departmental clinical and educational activities in accordance with the facility's mission and vision
  • Supervise all professional activities and clinical staff within the Department and its subspecialty divisions
  • Appoint departmental members to committees, establish and coordinate faculty and staff development, and periodically evaluate faculty and staff
  • Oversee all faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions according to Medical Staff By-Laws
  • Ensure professional performance of all practitioners with clinical privileges in the Department
  • Collaborate with administrative and nursing leadership to build a team-based clinical environment
  • Develop hospital-focused quality metrics and manage outreach to EMS services
  • Promote and support academic teaching and clinical research opportunities
  • Position includes 60% clinical coverage, which may comprise inpatient and/or outpatient clinic coverage depending on specialty
  • Reports directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs and the Co-Physician-in-Chief of the Neuroscience Institute
  • Medical degree from an accredited university required; board certification in Neurology required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of clinical experience required; leadership experience preferred but not required
  • Active CT medical license or eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut required
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented, performance-driven health system
