Duration: Minimum 6-month assignment, with potential extension based on performance and organizational needs
Position Summary:
We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Physician in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine with experience in primary or hospital medicine. This role involves providing on-site medical care to an adult male population, including individuals with specialized needs (e.g., dementia, developmental disabilities). The position offers a weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or on-call duties.
The physician will work collaboratively with nurse practitioners and interdisciplinary staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with nationally recognized treatment standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide routine and emergency medical care to patients, including examinations, diagnoses, and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses.
• Prescribe and manage medications, vaccinations, and therapeutic treatments as appropriate.
• Conduct physical examinations and monitor patient progress, documenting all encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results; prepare detailed medical evaluations, reports, and summaries.
• Make referrals for specialized care or treatment as indicated.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health staff to coordinate patient care.
• Adhere to professional, institutional, and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and protocols.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, including case reviews and peer discussions.
• Manage an average caseload of approximately 2.5 patients per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Active and unrestricted Ohio Medical License.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
• Doctoral degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant clinical experience prior to the projected start date.
