About the Position
The Physician II (Regional Health Officer - Delta) leader in a public health department is crucial for protecting and enhancing community health. This leadership role is comprised of three pillars: 1) clinical expertise, 2) public health knowledge, and 3) administrative acumen. Physician II duties are diverse and vital to the success of the health departments: 1. Clinical Expertise, the physician will maintain board certifications within their specialty. The physician will serve as the collaborator for all practitioners in their region. They are responsible for clinical oversight of the practitioners. Ensure that all aspects of the collaborative agreements are executed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Board of Nursing. Provide oversight of any training programs that rotate through the department. Ensure that nursing protocols and standing orders adhere to best practices and are consistently followed. 2. Public Health Knowledge, Execute and assess public health programs and policies. Identify community health necessities using data and investigation and formulate approaches to address them. Keep up to date with current public health developments, studies, and established practices to guarantee that the departments actions are grounded in evidence and effective. Collaborate with government bodies, healthcare entities, and community groups to develop comprehensive and inclusive public health programs. 3. Administrative Acumen Management - Leadership Display strong written and verbal communication skills. Convey complex public health issues to public stakeholders. Demonstrate strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrate empathy and cultural competency. Strategic Planning, Understand the communitys health needs, potential threats, and available resources. Develop and execute a strategic plan that addresses both the immediate health concerns and the long-term health objectives of the region. Financial Management, Oversee the department's budget, personnel and resources. Ensure efficient allocation of resources. Participate in the budget creation. Maintain oversight of the revenue cycle and billing. Track key performance indicators as outlined in the ambulatory operations reports.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave
