We wish to further complement our diverse cross section of physicians by adding an additional individual trained in pulmonary/critical care and Sleep Medicine to our Quadrangle Medical Specialist Division. The work is with an adult population. Our prestigious private practice, located in Greenville, NC, is multi-specialty with 9 offices located in and around the Greenville, NC area. In addition to gastroenterology, we offer pulmonary CC medicine, rheumatology, emergency medicine, dermatology, oncology, family medicine, endocrinology, infectious disease, internal medicine, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, hematology/oncology and surgery. Our 100+ providers and over 625 employees provide services for thousands of patients in a 29-county region. Our doctors are on staff at Vidant Medical Center, a 906 + bed level one trauma center and the primary teaching hospital for the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine (ECU-BSOM). This new physician will join other physicians at our main office in Greenville. This position is open to new and experienced physicians who are board certified or board eligible. You may also FAX to (252) 752-6600 or e-mail to mike.shreves@physicianseast.comGENERAL DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)Provide patient care for patients in clinical settings, including the Clinic, Sleep Center and the ICU (Intensive Care Unit).Maintain a team approach with staff and patients.Reviews patient EMR record, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunization status.Elicits and records information about patient's medical history.Examines patients for symptoms or physical information.Orders or executes various test, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.Administers or prescribes treatments.Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies.Discusses any possible side effects to medication or immunization with patient.Prescribes vaccinations to immunized patient from communicable diseases.Promotes health by advising patients about diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.Follows up with patient regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases.Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage.Adhere to department and company policies.
