SUMMARY

The Director of OB-GYN reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and is responsible for providing direct patient care including history review health education physical exam counseling diagnosis and treatment according to protocols and meeting productivity goals. The Director of OB-GYN is responsible for delivery of quality medical care to all patients of the Center and functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team within the scope of his or her medical practice. Heshe will provide clinical direction of the womens health department for all Center locations. Heshe will provide supervision to womens health mid-level providers and will oversee the general patient care of this department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.

Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Current unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board to practice as a physician in the State of Texas.

Must be registered and have current DEA DPS and other such certificates to legally operate as a practitioner in the State of Texas.

Hospital privileges at designated area hospitals preferred.

Certified BLS or BLS equivalent.

Bilingual - EnglishSpanish is preferred.

Minimum 3 years post-residency required.

Previous Department Director experience highly preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CLINICAL - Provider Duties

Provides outpatient medical care at the health center.

Provider is responsible for maintaining licensure in good standing in the state of Texas.

Provider is responsible for maintaining medical expertise and competence as well as demonstrating thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality primary medical care. Provides medical sessions as scheduled in direct patient care at the health center.

Provider examines diagnoses treats andor refers patients for appropriate specialty care services.

Provider prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other forms of treatment.

Provider reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under hisher care in a timely manner and makes medical management decisions appropriately. Heshe also follows appropriate standards of care for each patient.

Provider maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with the health centers established information management policies and procedures.

Provider performs orders and interprets diagnostic studies and medical protocols.

Provider refers patients for appropriate specialty care services lab and x-ray and any other ancillary services that are appropriate for patients management and care. Provider adheres to the team care approach by working with Medical Assistants Nurses Referral Specialists CHWs and others as needed.

Provider reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under hisher care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately. Provider follows appropriate standards of care for each patient.

Provider properly provides education and support to patients ensuring that they receive guidance on navigating the healthcare system plus addressing patients questions andor problems.

Ensures that patients are educated about diagnosis and plan of care.

Acts as a resource and patient advocate for facilitating communication when necessary.

PROVIDER LEADERSHIP

Collaborates with Chief Medical Officer Chief Compliance Officer Mid-level Providers Health Center ManagersCoordinators Medical Assistants and Front Desk Staff and other team members to assess the needs of all patients.

Provides proactive leadership direct supervision of womens health providers and mid-level practitioners and ensures all health center locations adhere to the same clinical policies and procedures

Provides clinical direction and consultation to mid-level providers - assists in the development of diagnostic and treatment protocols.

Assigns and monitors mid-level providers work performance and participates in completing peer reviews analytics and claims review.

Participates in quality control processes.

Participates in the review and development of patient care policies including health maintenance schedules and continuity of care.

Participates in the continuous improvement of the EHR system as a super user.

Participates in the evaluation of products procedures and patient care standards.

Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty

Participates in conferences workshops in specified health promotion and education andor prevention programs as needed.

Attends and participates in clinic meetingsdepartmental meetings and other clinic functions as required by the Health Center.

All Health Center staff members have emergency and disaster response responsibilities. Participate in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.

Performs other duties as assigned.
