Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm PST, Monday-Friday
Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced Physician Coder with strong knowledge of E/M coding and minor procedures. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in physician based coding, the ability to meet productivity and accuracy standards, and experience working independently in a remote environment.
- Compiles and keeps medical records of patients of health care delivery system to document patient condition and treatment.
- Checks medical records for completeness and to abstract and code clinical data, such as diseases, operations, procedures, and therapies, using standard classification systems.
Position Qualifications:
- 3+ years of recent experience in professional (physician based) coding
- Demonstrated experience coding minor procedures
- Strong understanding of Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding guidelines
- Ability to consistently meet a productivity standard of 80 accounts per day
- Thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD 10 CM, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Experience with EPIC and 3M encoder systems
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting production standards
- Certifications required: CPC, CCS, or CCS P
Preferred Experience
- Some inpatient coding experience
- Background in oncology/cancer related coding strongly preferred
- Experience with professional side, physician based coding (not outpatient facility coding)
