About Our Practice

We are a growing pulmonary and sleep medicine specialty practice committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with respiratory, pulmonary, and sleep-related conditions. Our practice serves patients with a wide range of chronic and complex medical needs, including sleep apnea, COPD, asthma, chronic cough, shortness of breath, pulmonary nodules, oxygen needs, and other cardiopulmonary concerns.

We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and clinically curious Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Provider who wants more than a routine job. Position Summary

The ideal candidate will be a professional, adaptable, and patient-focused provider who can support high-quality care across our current clinic locations in Fayetteville and Cary, as well as any future clinic locations as the practice continues to grow.

This position is best suited for someone who enjoys outpatient specialty medicine, values continuity of care, communicates well with patients and staff, and is comfortable working in a collaborative environment with physicians and other members of the care team.

Pulmonary and sleep medicine experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong clinical judgment, professionalism, reliability, and a genuine interest in learning the specialty.

Required Clinic Coverage

This is a multi-location role. The selected candidate must be willing and able to provide coverage at both the Fayetteville and Cary clinic locations based on practice needs.

As the practice grows, the candidate will also be expected to provide coverage at any additional or subsequent clinic locations opened by the practice in the future. Flexibility, dependability, and willingness to support the broader needs of the organization are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Provider will work collaboratively with the supervising physician and clinical team to provide comprehensive outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine care.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Evaluate and manage patients with pulmonary and sleep-related conditions.

  • Obtain complete medical histories and perform focused physical examinations.

  • Review and interpret relevant diagnostic information, including pulmonary testing, imaging reports, laboratory results, and sleep study findings, within scope of practice and under appropriate physician collaboration.

  • Develop assessment and treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.

  • Provide care for patients with conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, COPD, asthma, chronic cough, dyspnea, pulmonary nodules, oxygen needs, and other respiratory concerns.

  • Educate patients on disease processes, medications, inhaler use, CPAP/BiPAP therapy, sleep hygiene, lifestyle changes, and follow-up care.

  • Support PAP therapy management, adherence discussions, mask/interface concerns, compliance requirements, and durable medical equipment coordination.

  • Order appropriate diagnostic testing, referrals, medications, and follow-up visits in accordance with licensure, practice protocols, and supervising physician guidance.

  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, referring providers, pharmacies, DME companies, and other members of the care team.

  • Help maintain smooth clinic flow and support efficient patient care across locations.

  • Participate in quality improvement, workflow improvement, and practice growth initiatives.

  • Maintain professionalism, compassion, confidentiality, and a patient-first approach at all times.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

  • Current or eligible North Carolina Physician Assistant license.

  • NCCPA certification.

  • DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration.

  • Ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

  • Ability and willingness to work at both Fayetteville and Cary locations.

  • Ability and willingness to provide coverage at future clinic locations as the practice expands.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

  • Professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to patient care.

Preferred but not required:

  • Prior experience in pulmonary medicine.

  • Prior experience in sleep medicine.

  • Experience with CPAP/BiPAP therapy, sleep study review, or DME coordination.

  • Experience in internal medicine, family medicine, urgent care, hospital medicine, cardiology, ICU, respiratory care, or chronic disease management.

  • Familiarity with pulmonary function testing, oxygen therapy, inhaler education, and chronic respiratory conditions.

  • Experience with outpatient specialty care workflows.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with regular clinic hours:

Monday through Friday8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Clinic assignment may vary based on patient volume, provider coverage, and operational needs at the Fayetteville and Cary locations.
