Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance is the largest, independently owned orthopedic specialty practice in the Kansas City metro area.
We are looking for an advanced practice provider — Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner — who is genuinely interested in orthopedics and wants to practice at the top of the field. This is a part-time, principally clinic-based role, roughly 20–25 hours per week, supporting a sports medicine and knee-and-shoulder surgical practice — including arthroplasty and fractures about the knee and shoulder and some general orthopedic fracture work. Our approach is high-skill, high-tech, with an unwavering commitment to clinical excellence.
The Role
- This is principally a clinic-based support role.
- Responsibilities include new patient consultation and follow-up evaluations.
- You should be confident with routine fracture care, post-operative management, and presurgical screening and preparation.
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable evaluating and managing patients with a high degree of autonomy while working collaboratively with the supervising orthopedic surgeon. The weekly clinic schedule can be flexible.
- There are limited call responsibilities including occasional assistance with weekend rounds, and inpatient consults.
- You will be joining a fun, highly collaborative team consisting of a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and two amazing part-time nurse practitioners who function as a cohesive unit. We want to onboard a strong team player who also has a sense of humor.
Requirements
- Current, active Kansas license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior orthopedic surgery experience required.
- Demonstrated competence in orthopedic management and care - minimum one year prior orthopedic experience is required.
- Exceptional diligence and follow-through.
- A true professional persona and a consistently high level of performance.
- BLS required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand & bend; walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Requires a full range of body motion including lifting patients, pushing, and pulling with and without assistance, manual and finger dexterity and coordination, normal visual and auditory acuity
- Push and pull 500 lbs. with assistance
- Position will work in a hospital/clinical area with exposure to blood and body fluids and possible exposure to communicable or infectious disease and other conditions common to the hospital/clinical area
Competitive hourly compensation, potential for benefits eligibility/PTO. Negotiable call pay
