Position Overview:
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple is seeking a highly motivated and autonomous Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) team. This night-shift-only role follows a desirable 7-on / 14-off schedule with no call responsibilities , offering an exceptional work-life balance.
As a PA in the Neuro ICU, you will work closely with the nocturnal intensivist and house staff, managing high-acuity neurological patients, performing critical care procedures, handling ICU admissions, and providing overnight cross-coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide overnight care for critically ill neurological patients in the Neuro ICU
+ Perform and manage ICU-level procedures including:
+ Central line placement
+ Arterial line placement
+ Intubations
+ Manage cross-coverage within the unit
+ Handle ICU admissions overnight
+ Participate in interdisciplinary rounding with the nocturnal intensivist and support team
Qualifications:
+ Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the state of Texas
+ Completion of an accredited PA program
+ New graduates are welcome to apply; 1+ years of experience in critical care, neurology, or emergency medicine is preferred
+ Proficiency or willingness to train in procedures such as central lines, arterial lines, and intubation
+ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

QUALIFICATIONS
+ EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program
+ EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
+ CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
Physician Assistants (PA)
ACLS (ACLS): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
Basic Life Support (BLS): Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
