Responsibilities:

 

Mercy is a medium-sized academic community hospital in downtown Baltimore, close to the Inner Harbor and the business district. We have a diverse group of employees who are dedicated to humanistic patient care. Our PA’s and NP’s work as hospitalists and are integrated into teaching medical services alongside an internal medicine supervisory resident, a medical intern, and medical and PA students. Our APP’s have access to extensive in-house CME, including a weekly hospital medicine conference series and Medical Grand Rounds. They serve as educators for rotating 2nd year Physician Assistant students on internal medicine clerkships. Patient care will remain within the scope of the Maryland Board of Physicians Quality Assurance practice under the supervision of physicians. All new hires are brought on board with extensive training, including direct supervision by an experienced Medicine PA and graduated patient care responsibility over multiple weeks. All patients are seen in tandem with an attending hospitalist physician same day.

Qualifications:
License and Certification Requirements:
  • CPR Certification required
  • Must possess a State of Maryland Physician Assistant License, in good standing.
  • Must possess a Physician Assistant degree from an accredited school.
Other Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a practicing PA preferred.
  • Must possess skills in the use of various computers and software programs.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to work efficiently and possess the ability to make rapid decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Min: USD $51.03/Hr. Max: USD $91.85/Hr. Benefits:
