Required Skills
- Valid Physician Assistant license and active California licensure with CA DEA certification
- Ability to perform Radical and Endoscope Vein Harvesting
- Proficient in interpreting EKGs, X-rays, labs, ECMO, IABP, and Impella devices
- Experience assisting in the operating room and managing ICU or step-down patients
- Excellent clinical judgment and technical skills in cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
Nice to Have Skills
- 3-5 years of relevant clinical experience in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery
- Prior experience with IABP, Impella, ECMO management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- Demonstrated experience in high-volume cardiac surgery environments or ICU settings
Other Requirements
- Flexible schedule with availability for 3-4 days per week, including call rotation
- Call duties split 50/50 with another PA, including weekday and weekend on-call rotations
- Guaranteed minimum of 8 hours per day, with overtime paid after 8 hours
- Willingness to work clinical/hospital hours from 7am-3pm, Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities from 3pm-7am the next day during weekdays and 3pm Friday to 7am Monday on weekends
- Willingness to undertake hospital-based duties such as OR assisting, rounding, and clinic work
