Description San Bernardino County is looking for Physical Therapy Assistants who will administer individually planned therapy programs for the physical rehabilitation of patients. Duties include administering selective treatments which may involve application of modalities, therapeutic exercises, and activities; assisting therapy staff with modalities; providing patient education; observing patient reactions to treatments and reporting unusual occurrences or reactions of patients to Physical Therapists.

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university-affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. Summary of Benefits Professional Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical, and verification of employment history and education. Physical: May be required to lift or assist in lifting children over 50 pounds.

BLS Certificate: Physical Therapy Assistant incumbents must possess and maintain a valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association. Verification of a valid certificate must be provided within 30 days of the hire/start date, or conditional job offer may be rescinded.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet BOTH of the following LICENSE and CERTIFICATION requirements:

LICENSE: Possess and maintain a valid Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California.

AND CERTIFICATION: Possess and maintain a valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association. (Verification of a valid certificate must be provided within 30 days of the hire/start date.)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

One (1) year or more of full-time equivalent experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
