Physical Therapist - Pediatric Clinic

The Children's SPOT is a pediatric therapy clinic located in Schertz, Texas (NE side of San Antonio). We are currently looking for individuals to fill an immediate position as a Physical Therapist treating children up to 20 years of age. 

This opportunity is open to start PRN and can build to a full-time position with benefits if candidate chooses - if interested in full-time, we have the patients. 

Qualifications for PT:

• Graduate of a physical therapy school approved by The American Physical Therapy Association --or-- The Council on Medical Education of Hospitals for the American Medical Association Licensed or registered by the State of Texas
• One (1) year of experience in a clinic setting preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred

Some of the Responsibilities include:

1. Prepares an assessment of the patient's condition and periodic evaluations and summaries, develops a plan of care and problem list, and writes clinical/progress notes on the date of the visit and incorporates the same in the patient's record.

2. Assists the physician in evaluating patient's by applying diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.

3. Instructs patients and their families in the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices (canes, wheelchairs, etc.).

4. Supervises the physical therapy assistant, and evaluates the effectiveness of the services furnished by reviewing the assistant's notes.

5. Participates with staff, patient, and physician in discharge planning activities and completes the physical therapy discharge summary within the designated framework of clinic policies.
