Job Description and Duties

We Are Hiring for Physical Therapist II! ($6,235 - $9,277 Monthly)

The Department of State Hospitals - Coalinga is now accepting applications for a Permanent, Full-Time Physical Therapist II position. The Physical Therapist II provides treatment to patients utilizing physical agents, such as heat light, cold, water, electricity, exercise, mobilization, mechanical devices, etc., in a manner commensurate with that specified in the California Physical Practice Act.

Working Conditions

The employee is required to work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other work locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital. All employees are required to have an annual health review and TB test or whenever necessary to ascertain that they are free from symptoms indicating the presence of infection and are able to safely perform their essential job functions.

Department Information

DSH-Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a security perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.

The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired. The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired. The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired. The position(s) require(s) a(n) CA Physical Therapist License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.

Personal Leave Program (PLP): All State civil service employees are currently subject to a mandatory PLP, which entails a reduction in monthly gross salary but provided PLP leave credits. The amount of salary reduction is dependent upon the classification and associated Union Bargaining Unit (BU). The BU for this position is America Federation of State, County, and Municipal Engineers (AFSCME), which is subject to a 3% in salary reduction and accrues approximately 5 hours of PLP per qualifying pay period.
