Job Overview The Physical Therapist I provide physical therapy services including evaluation, treatment and follow up and documentation using general competencies for outpatient children referred to the physical therapy department. Provide supervision for PT aides/assistants and students with specific tasks and/or patients. Provide continuous consultation and education to families. The Physical Therapist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP). This position will primarily treat our general orthopedic population and a small portion of pelvic health population (10-20%). The Orthopedic Department at Children's Hospital Colorado strives to provide focused, expert care across many diagnoses to youth in our region. Our physical therapists partner with many physicians across the Orthopedic Institute to provide excellent orthopedic care at our 6 locations. Physical therapists on this team are experts at providing evaluation and treatment of patients with general orthopedic diagnoses including but not limited to neck, back, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle diagnoses, concussion, vestibular disorders, scoliosis, pelvic health diagnoses, and chronic conditions such as chronic pain, hypermobility spectrum disorder, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and functional neurologic disorder. Our therapists provide family centered care and are expected to coordinate care with patients, families, therapy aides, physical therapy assistants (where applicable), physicians, advanced practice providers and students. This program has a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and collaboration across the 6 sites. EQUIVALENCY - None CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR LICENSURE -State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Physical Therapist license; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment This position has been defined and is governed by the Children's Hospital Colorado Medical Staff bylaws,continuation of employment is contingent upon the review and approval of the Colorado Health Care Professionals Credential Application within 3 months of employment.
