Job Description

The Acute Physical Therapist Assistant II reports to the Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant II provides optimal patient care by implementing a physical therapy program to individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental and patient-family directed approach. Under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist I II or III functions as a staff physical therapist assistant. Supervises PTA students and provides clinical education experiences.

Patient populations served infant pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric for a variety of diagnoses to include but not limited to neurologic orthopedic post-surgical pediatric medically complex inpatient or outpatient throughout the hospital system.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program less than one year experience as a physical therapy assistant.

Licensure

Physical Therapy Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

Current American Heart Association AHA Basic Life Support BLS certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
