Job Description:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll contribute to our success in the following ways:
- Promotes Elara Carings philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality care.
- Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patients physician.
- Follows Plan of Care as established by the supervising Physical Therapist and reports any changes in status.
- Adheres to State Practice Act Guidelines and verifies the Plan of Care prior to each visit.
- Provides care according to physician orders and assessment data.
- Incorporates patient care goals into therapy care.
- Instructs patients and families in the safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
- Educates patients and caregivers on home therapy programs.
- Works in a physically demanding environment that may involve lifting and transferring patients.
- May work irregular or on-call hours as needed.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
- 6+ months experience preferred.
- Able and willing to travel within assigned coverage area (up to 50%).
- Must have a dependable vehicle, valid drivers license, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
