Job Description:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will perform direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will promote Elara Carings mission and ensure quality and continuity of care by following the established Plan of Care and adhering to physician orders and state practice guidelines.
- Perform direct physical therapy services and report patient status changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Verify Plan of Care before each visit and provide care according to assessment data and standards.
- Instruct patients and families in the safe use of assistive devices and home exercise programs.
- Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines under State Practice Act.
- Maintain communication regarding patient progress and collaborate with care team members.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
- 6+ months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
- Able and willing to travel within branch/office coverage area.
- Dependable vehicle, valid drivers license, and current auto insurance required.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
