Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our client’s rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist, this role involves implementing daily therapeutic interventions for patients in accordance with established facility policies, Medicare, and private insurance guidelines.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the registered Physical Therapist in executing specific procedures and programs.
- Carry out routine treatment procedures tailored to patient programs.
- Observe and document patient responses and progress, reporting significant findings to the supervising therapist.
- Manage treatment areas and ensure they are prepared for therapy sessions.
- Engage in facility educational activities to enhance professional growth.
- Supervise and direct Physical Therapy Aides to ensure proper treatment delivery.
- Maintain open communication with patients' physicians regarding progress and treatment plans, in collaboration with the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and patient needs.
Qualifications:
- Must have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current certification by the American Physical Therapy Association preferred.
- Licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana.
- Capable of performing tasks safely and effectively without jeopardizing the health or safety of self or others. This includes the ability to perform minimal assist transfers, defined as lifting and controlling up to 50 pounds.
