POSITION: Physical Education Teacher

SCHOOL: New Fairfield Elementary School

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Plan and deliver standards-based physical education instruction aligned with the Connecticut Physical Education Frameworks and district curriculum
• Develop engaging lessons that promote lifelong fitness, physical literacy, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy decision-making
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of all students
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of student performance
• Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student growth and success
• Supervise students during instructional and related school activities in accordance with district expectations
• Participate in professional learning opportunities and contribute positively to the school community

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Connecticut Certification: Physical Education (044) required
• Knowledge of Connecticut Physical Education Standards and best instructional practices
• Experience creating inclusive learning environments that encourage student participation and wellness as well as a commitment to supporting the academic, physical, social, and emotional development of all students

SALARY: Per NFEA Contract
