Step into High-Tech Solar Manufacturing

Express Employment Professionals in Lynchburg is hiring a Photovoltaic Manufacturing Technician to support a client in the Lynchburg area. You’ll help transform raw materials into precision-built solar modules inside a modern, automated production environment.

A day in the life

You arrive for training on the day shift, gear up with PPE, and review the day’s production targets. On the line, you operate and tend automated equipment, watch process indicators, and step in for material layup, framing, soldering, laminating, and finishing. You double-check components, run visual and equipment-based quality checks, and keep your station organized and safe. When something looks off, you stop to investigate and communicate clearly with your supervisor to keep quality on track.

What you’ll do

  • Operate and monitor automated systems used in solar panel fabrication
  • Assemble modules: prepare materials, complete layup, frame, solder, laminate, and finish components
  • Handle raw materials and finished parts safely throughout the production area
  • Inspect in-process and finished goods to spot defects or inconsistencies
  • Perform basic testing and quality checks after training
  • Follow standard operating procedures and technical specifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspace
  • Promptly communicate production, equipment, or quality issues to leadership

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Background in manufacturing, production, machine operation, or technical work (preferred)
  • Mechanical aptitude and ease around automated machinery
  • Ability to use hand tools and follow technical work instructions
  • Keen attention to detail and quality
  • Comfort in a high-tech, fast-paced setting
  • Stamina to stand for long periods and move materials during the shift
  • Reliable attendance, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn
  • Commitment to safety practices, PPE usage, and housekeeping
  • No prior solar experience required—comprehensive training provided

Proficiencies and tools

  • Proficient in Mechanical Assembly
  • Comfort with Electrical Panel Installation fundamentals
  • Regular use of power tools

Pay and schedule

  • Starting pay: $20–$26 per hour, depending on skills and experience
  • Target start date: June 1
  • Training: day shift, 8–9 hours between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm
  • Post-training: 12-hour shifts, either 6:00 am–6:00 pm or 6:00 pm–6:00 am (based on assignment)

Join us and help build quality solar modules that power a cleaner future.
