The Department of Pathology is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection, and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy: labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. This position is 100% time, Monday - Friday from 0900-1730.

Duties to include:

  • Performs phlebotomy draws.
  • Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required.
  • Orders, receives, and distributes supplies.
  • Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • High school graduation or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Completion of an on-the-job phlebotomy training program or other phlebotomy training program.
  • Minimum 6 months previous experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Basic computer skills are desirable.
  • Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment is desirable.
  • Previous patient contact experience is desirable.
  • Previous public contact/customer service experience is desirable.
