Job Summary:- We are seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Saint Johns, MI. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Accurately collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Maintain patient confidentiality while ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping.
- Explain collection procedures to patients to create a comfortable and professional experience.
- Follow established safety protocols and specimen collection procedures.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collections as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards.
- Promote a positive image of the organization through professional interactions with patients and staff.
Required Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
- Strong venipuncture skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic keyboard and data entry proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Previous experience in a patient service center, laboratory, retail, or customer service environment.
