Job Title: Phlebotomist I – 1st Shift
Location: Saint Johns, MI 48879
Job Type: 03+ Month Contract
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (40 Hours/Week)
 
Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Saint Johns, MI. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Accurately collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality while ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping.
  • Explain collection procedures to patients to create a comfortable and professional experience.
  • Follow established safety protocols and specimen collection procedures.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collections as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards.
  • Promote a positive image of the organization through professional interactions with patients and staff.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
  • Strong venipuncture skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic keyboard and data entry proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • Previous experience in a patient service center, laboratory, retail, or customer service environment.
