Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services while providing exceptional customer care. This position is responsible for processing prescriptions, preparing medications, assisting customers, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Welcome customers and provide prompt, courteous, and professional service.
  • Receive, enter, and process new and refill prescription orders accurately.
  • Prepare, label, package, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Verify patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate prescription processing.
  • Process prescription claims through third-party insurance providers and assist in resolving billing issues.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and direct clinical or medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
  • Assist customers with prescription pick-up, over-the-counter product locations, and pharmacy services.
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and prescription records while protecting patient confidentiality.
  • Operate the pharmacy point-of-sale system and process customer transactions.
  • Monitor inventory levels, stock medications, receive shipments, and rotate inventory to remove expired products.
  • Assist with ordering medications and pharmacy supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
