Job Description: Job DescriptionAssists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. QualificationsCurrent registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP)is required and must be maintainedMust obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification:Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hireNew team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or recognized by PTCB, have 30 days post program completion to obtain certificationEducation: High School Degree or Equivalent Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and must be maintained ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision and direction of the pharmacy supervisor/staff pharmacist, fills routine orders for unit doses, prepackaged pharmaceuticals, prepares small IVs and performs related duties
