Job Title: Pharmacy Technician – Long-Term Care Pharmacy

Location: Warren, MI 48092
Pay Rate: $24.45/hour during contracted period (+ shift differential, if applicable)
Position Type: W2 Contract Assignment (Potential for Permanent Conversion based on position availability and business needs)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with rotating weekends

Join a closed-door pharmacy team supporting long-term care and senior living communities in a fast-paced, non-retail pharmacy environment. This role offers hands-on pharmacy experience in a patient-focused setting where accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork directly support high-quality medication services for healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fill prescription orders and package medications for dispensing and delivery
  • Accurately label prescription products, including cautionary and auxiliary labels
  • Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding such as liquids, powders, and ointments
  • Enter patient and prescription data into pharmacy systems to generate labels
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock checks and expired medication removal
  • Process returned medications according to established protocols
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams and external healthcare partners
  • Support onboarding and training of new pharmacy staff
  • Perform specialized pharmacy functions including:
  • Controlled substance room operations
  • Automated medication packaging systems
  • IV medication preparation and sanitation procedures
  • Facility dispensing machine servicing
  • Complete additional pharmacy support tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active Pharmacy Technician license as required by the state of Michigan
  • Previous pharmacy experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to accurately recognize and identify medications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Goal-oriented with strong teamwork skills
  • Effective verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Long-term care pharmacy experience
  • Closed-door or institutional pharmacy experience
  • Medication packaging or compounding experience
