Minimum Qualifications:
HS/GED plus 4 yrs Pharmacy Tech Experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences;
1 year to obtain ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program;
National Technician Certification (PTCB);
Arkansas Pharmacy Technician Registration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Prior Supervisory experience
1 year to obtain ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program
2+ years of UAMS pharmacy experience
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Accurately filling orders by selecting the correct medication, dosage form, strength, and quantity. May also prepare compounded medication.
Understands Pyxis and handles stockouts and routine replenishment.
Completes cart fill in an accurate and timely manner.
Returns stock to the shelves when appropriate, ensures returned refrigerated items are returned to refrigeration in a timely manner.
Completes all duties/responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner.
Answer and triage phone calls in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner.
Promote staff engagement and excellent customer service.
Lead Direct technician staff in assigned area in all activities pertaining to their job duties and functions.
Ensure proper training for technicians by serving as an onboarding and training coordinator.
Orient new hires on job requirements, policies, and work procedures.
Provide formal, in-depth training of new technician staff.
Operate as a supervising technician in the cleanroom area while compounding sterile preparations.
Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of compounding areas.
Understand and educate technicians on the USP 797, 795, and 800 policies. Overnight - Operate under limited supervision to perform all duties of a pharmacy technician at a high level, including some of those covered by 797 and lead technicians.
Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain proper handling of controlled substances.
Collaborates with department leadership to support initiatives including planning for future programs and services, patient and staff safety, and operational improvements. Being adaptive to change.
Work to provide excellent pharmacy services to assists in achieving departmental goals.
Works well as part of a team and with all shifts.
Displays a positive attitude that contributes to the overall morale of the inpatient pharmacy team.
Other duties as assigned.
