Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for all technical aspects involved in medication preparation and distribution. Incumbent will participate in the daily operations of Pharmacy Services and assists in the provision of pharmaceutical services under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.   •  You will perform duties and responsibilities of all lesser included jobs (ie: Pharmacy Tech I)
  • You will compound intravenous medications for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients using sterile technique
  • You will prepare pediatric and adult chemotherapy using negative pressure technique
  • You will compound parenteral nutrition for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients
  • You will perform unit-based rounds and medication distribution functions to assigned nursing units

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduation from a pharmacy technician training program preferred
  • 1-year acute care pharmacy technician experience or training of one year required
  • Prior hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred
  • Current Nevada license to practice as a pharmacy technician or eligibility required
  • PTCB / CPhT certification required
