The Staff Pad has partnered with a respected hospital in Helena, MT to hire a knowledgeable and dedicated Pharmacy Technician who is passionate about patient care and committed to excellence in pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, works effectively within a healthcare team and is driven to deliver exceptional service, accurate medication support, and the highest standards of patient safety.

As a Pharmacy Technician, and guided by the Director of Pharmacy, you’ll work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to support safe and effective medication preparation, distribution, and pharmacy operations that directly improve patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications accurately and efficiently
  • Support inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations, including unit dose, IV admixture, and prescription processing
  • Maintain medication safety standards and ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Utilize pharmacy dispensing systems and technology to support workflow and patient care
  • Prepare IV admixtures using aseptic technique, as required by practice location
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, providers, and healthcare staff to ensure quality patient service
  • Perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions with precision
  • Help maintain organized medication inventory and pharmacy records

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of pharmacy dispensing systems, including unit dose, IV admixture, and outpatient prescription processing
  • Understanding of medication therapies and basic differences across all patient populations, from neonates to geriatric patients
  • Knowledge of drug nomenclature, including brand and generic medications
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, activities allowed and not allowed by law and technician scope of practice
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Windows programs, email, and internet applications
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and conversions accurately (within and between systems of measurement)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills

Education & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current Pharmacy Technician license in good standing in the State of Montana required
