Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Specialist

Job Description

Join a growing specialty pharmacy team that is dedicated to simplifying access to medication and delivering personalized care to patients with rare diseases. This role offers the opportunity to become a Subject Matter Expert and the potential for full-time employment based on performance and headcount requirements.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls from patients, manufacturers, and insurance companies.
• Make outbound calls to patients, insurance companies, and manufacturers regarding patient cases.
• Acquire clinical documentation from providers" offices to support prior authorization for patient therapy.
• Submit clinical documentation to insurance companies according to their specific requirements.
• Follow up on prior authorization submissions in a timely manner to check for approvals.
• Learn and utilize the pharmacy management system to process patients" pharmacy claims.
• Follow standard operating procedures to maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively with team leaders and colleagues.
• Ensure attention to detail in all tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
• Experience in retail pharmacy
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook
• Data entry proficiency
• Ability to handle 25-30 calls per day and document accurate progress notes

Work Environment

This role requires working onsite in Cary, NC, Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch. The office environment is supportive and collaborative, with a focus on teamwork and patient care. There is no direct patient contact, and the office is closed on major holidays. Initially, the position is fully onsite, with potential for increased flexibility based on performance. Join a team of seven employees dedicated to making a difference.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
