Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Taos , NM 87571
Duration: 1 Year + Possible extension (3 - 6 months contract options)
Shift Schedule: 8AM to 5PM (40 hours a week, Mon - Fri)
Qualification:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
License: Certified Pharmacy Technician - Nice to have
Certifications: BLS - Nice to have
Experience: Minimum 2 years Pharmacy technician experience is requied
Experience working with robotic prescription dispensing system is a MUST
Responsibilities:
  • Extensive pharmaceutical knowledge including drug names (generic/trade), dosage forms, strengths, and units of measure is essential.
  • Ability to interpret prescriptions accurately and perform precise pharmaceutical calculations using the metric system.
  • Proficiency in inventory control practices, including procurement, storage, distribution, and rotation of stock.
  • Technological proficiency in using pharmacy-related tools such as pharmacy software, POS systems, label printers, and drug counters.
  • Ensures proper labeling of prescriptions with appropriate usage directions and precautions.
  • Operates under supervision of the on-duty or Chief Pharmacist, ensuring compliance with pharmacy standards and protocols.
  • Processes prescriptions and determines billability per guidelines; enters and verifies data for reimbursement.
  • Communicates with providers to clarify prescriptions or gather necessary documentation for billing and patient records.
  • Manages insurance claims, including research, correction of incomplete data, and follow-up on rejected claims with Pharmacy Benefit Managers.
  • Acts as a billing system technical resource, offering training and orientation to staff as needed.
