Pharmacy Technician 2 Compensation

• $19.00 per hour
• Benefits available after 90 days of employment
• 401(k) with company match available after 1 year of service (on eligibility dates)

Pharmacy Technician 2 Highlights

• Contract assignment with potential to hire permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• On-site role at a Fulfillment Center
• Schedule: Monday–Wednesday 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• First-week training: Monday–Thursday 4:30 PM – 12:30 AM
• Safety-sensitive position; will have access to PHI (HIPAA environment)

Pharmacy Technician 2 Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and distribution of drug products
• Prepare prescription medications using the fulfillment system and Walgreens procedures
• Process prescription exceptions (e.g., claim rejects; member/physician outreach as needed)
• Enter patient demographics and prescription information into the system; handle new patient registration
• Troubleshoot missing prescription information and interpret common medical abbreviations (SIG codes)
• Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and escalated member issues (including third-party rejects)
• Operate automated machinery, sort medications, and move inventory through workflow stages with strong quality control
• Count and fill prescriptions, affix labels, pack, and ship medications
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area; assist with basic equipment/workflow upkeep
• Escalate clinical or interpretation questions to a Pharmacist
• Assist with inbound/outbound patient or physician calls as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned

Pharmacy Technician 2 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
• 2–4 years Pharmacy Technician experience (preferred by client)
• Eligible for Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Illinois (per client requirement)
• Basic PC skills (open/close programs, save/print, navigate online)
• Basic web/search skills (use a browser, URLs, forms, bookmarks)
• Keyboarding skills (minimum 25 WPM)
• Able to push/pull/grasp/lift as needed (with or without reasonable accommodation)
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

Pharmacy Technician 2 Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service experience meeting quality and productivity standards
• Strong keyboarding (e.g., 35+ WPM)
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)
• Comfortable working a flexible shift when needed
