The Opportunity
Job Summary
Maintains and optimizes medication-related technology and pharmacy systems, including automated dispensing cabinets, medication carousels, packaging systems, medication barcode databases, and 340B-related databases. Supports pharmacy billing activities and provides pharmacy technician assistance as needed.
Education & Experience
· High School Diploma/GED or equivalent — Preferred
· Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience — Preferred
· Hospital pharmacy experience — Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
· State Pharmacy Technician License — Required in California and Oregon
· Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification — Preferred in California and Oregon
Key Responsibilities
· Install, maintain, coordinate moves, and optimize automated dispensing cabinet content and databases.
· Add new medication barcodes and troubleshoot barcode-related issues.
· Maintain 340B third-party vendor databases, including mapping new products and correcting inaccurate mappings.
· Enter manual purchase orders and reconcile split purchase orders.
· Train pharmacy associates on outpatient and/or retail prescription processing systems.
· Complete medication-related billing duties in collaboration with pharmacy staff.
· Provide pharmacy technician coverage and support pharmacy operations as needed.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
