Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Pharmacy technician license/certification as required by Virginia/state regulations
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Reliable and able to work at a steady pace with strong attention to detail
Ability to perform light lifting and be on your feet for extended periods
Preferred:
Prior pharmacy experience (long-term care pharmacy experience strongly preferred)
Physical Requirements
May sit or stand 7–10 hours per day
Occasional climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and walking
May lift/move up to 30 lbs
May work extended hours as needed
Responsibilities
Pull/pick medications from shelving and other storage areas (including pre-pack racks)
Perform accuracy checks during final preparation before pharmacist verification
Fill daily medication orders accurately, efficiently, and in a timely/prioritized manner under pharmacist supervision
Assist with returned medications and recycle/dispose per procedure
Help pre-pack frequently ordered medications; label, stock, and replenish as needed during low-volume times
Package materials/products manually
Follow applicable regulations and privacy requirements (including HIPAA)
Maintain a clean, organized workstation; restock supplies needed each shift
Notify the pharmacist on duty of any product/medication that is not scanning properly
Comply with safety, attendance, and dress code policies
Be available for overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
Other duties as assigned based on business needs
Pharmacy Fill Technician
Location: Norfolk, VA (On-site)
Schedule: Morning shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with alternating weekends (you’ll have a weekday off during weekend-rotation weeks)
Pay: $21.00/hour (W2)
Type: Contract (possible contract-to-hire depending on business needs, team fit, and attendance)
