- The Pharmacy Cashier must also possess excellent communication skills and be able to handle a fast-paced environment
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to: processing payments, assisting customers with purchases, greeting customers, and answering questions
- Process customer payments accurately and efficiently while adhering to all cash handling policies and procedures including processing checks, debit cards and credit cards against accounts, issuing receipts, keeping track of accounts payable for customers, counting money and documenting any discrepancies as needed.
- Assist customers with purchases, providing information and advice on product availability, use and pricing
- Greet customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner
- Answer customer questions and resolve any issues they may have regarding their payment transactions
- Ensure the pharmacy over the counter and supply shelves are stocked and organized
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all pharmacy regulations and maintain compliance with all applicable laws
- Remain up to date with new products, services, and other relevant information
- Assist in any other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Supervisor
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
High school graduate.
Additional business and medical training preferred.
Must be able to type 40 words per and be efficient with data entry equipment.
Must have the ability to apply appropriate rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Knowledge of computers a necessity. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must possess the ability to prioritize activities, organize work and problem solve.
