Pharmacist I

Valley Vital Care

Location: Richmond
Department: Pharmacy & Clinical Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

About the Role

At Valley Vital Care, the pharmacist is the clinical authority in the patient journey, moving therapy from a verified order to a safely compounded, clinically appropriate dose. As a Pharmacist I, you'll practice clinical pharmacy under the guidance of the site Pharmacist in Charge, verifying orders, compounding to standard, and serving as a clinical resource to the nurses, prescribers, and patients who depend on getting therapy right.

This is a strong entry point for a licensed pharmacist building depth in infusion and specialty care, with a clear path to grow into more senior clinical and leadership roles over time.

What You'll Do

  • Verify medication orders, compounds, and clinical appropriateness before dispensing.
  • Perform and verify sterile compounding to USP <797> and <800> standards.
  • Complete clinical review including dosing, interactions, labs, allergies, and monitoring.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to nursing, prescribers, referral sources, and patients.
  • Document clinical interventions and therapy notes in CareTend.
  • Supervise technician order entry, preparation, and inventory work.
  • Maintain controlled-substance, storage, and recordkeeping compliance.
  • Capture and report medication-safety events per the enterprise program.

What You'll Bring

  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy, with an active pharmacist license in good standing.
  • 0 to 2 years of clinical pharmacy practice.
  • Sterile compounding training, with familiarity with USP <797> and <800> standards.
  • Sound clinical judgment, with comfort working under the guidance of the Pharmacist in Charge on non-routine calls.
  • Clear communication and clean coordination with nursing, intake, and prescribers.
  • Infusion or specialty pharmacy exposure preferred.

Why Valley Vital Care

Valley Vital Care is a growing organization where pharmacists are central to safe, high-quality patient care. You'll build real depth in infusion and specialty pharmacy, backed by a defined growth ladder and the support to move up it.
