Overview:
Pharmacy Residency is a post graduate training year in which residents are taught advanced practice skills following criteria developed by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. In addition to performing the duties of a staff pharmacist, resident will complete clinical rotations, a residency project and contribute to continuing education and research. Residents will also participate in and assist with recruitment activities and education.
- Successfully complete clinical rotations gaining competencies area and goals and objectives of the residency program
- Complete a residency project
- Contribute to and participate in continuing education and research as directed by the Residency Program Director
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Staff Pharmacist when scheduled to work in various areas of the department
- Participate in departmental MUE and cost-saving initiatives
- Participate in medication error reduction initiatives
- Assist in residency recruitment
- Conduct P&T Committee Reviews
- Provide education to Pharmacy Students & Pharmacists
- Represent the pharmacy departments professionally in all external relationships.
- Demonstrate ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
Required Education, Experience, & License/Certification/Registration
- Pharm D
- Eligible for pharmacy license in state of MN
- Awaiting an examination for pharmacy license in state of MN
- Minnesota pharmacist license. If not licensed as a pharmacist prior to first day of employment a Minnesota Board of Pharmacy intern registration is required and a pharmacist license within 90 days of your employment
