Pharmacist

Job Title: Pharmacist 
Location: New York, NY
Shift: Variable (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM / 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM)
Weekly Hours: 37.5 - 40 hours (hours depends on facility requirement)
Duration: 14 Weeks

Job Description:
The Pharmacist supports acute care hospital pharmacy operations , including medication dispensing, sterile compounding support, IV room preparation, and electronic medical record (EMR) documentation. The role ensures safe, accurate, and compliant medication management while collaborating with clinical teams in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Dispense, verify, and manage medications in an acute care hospital setting.
• Support sterile compounding and IV room pharmacy operations.
• Utilize pharmacy dispensing systems and EMR for documentation and workflow.
• Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory medication safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff regarding medication therapy.
• Maintain accurate records of all pharmacy activities.
• Follow institutional policies for controlled substances and medication safety.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
• Active Pharmacist license issued by NYSED (New York State Education Department) – required.
• Minimum 1 year of Pharmacist experience.
• Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems preferred.
• Sterile processing and IV room experience preferred.
• EMR system knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings and overnights.
• Acute care hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
