A healthcare organization we are representing is seeking licensed Pharmacists to support pharmacy operations, medication dispensing, prescription verification, patient consultation, and pharmacy technician oversight. This role is ideal for a Kentucky-licensed pharmacist with strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret physician prescriptions and compound, verify, and dispense medications in accordance with regulatory guidelines, facility procedures, and professional standards
- Counsel patients and customers regarding medications, dosage, frequency, specialized requirements, supplies, and potential drug interactions
- Review and evaluate patient care plans for obvious conflicts or medication-related concerns
- Verify prescribed medications for inpatient and outpatient use in compliance with state, federal, and pharmacy practice requirements
- Perform prescription verification of unit dose orders, order entry, and IV admixture verification
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to pharmacy technicians
- Respond to escalated customer inquiries, prescription concerns, and complex issue resolution
- Maintain procedures related to quality assurance, controlled substance security, documentation, and record keeping
- Monitor pharmacy technician performance to ensure compliance with policies, processes, and approved dispensing practices
- Support associate relations functions for pharmacy technicians, including hiring, performance management, and corrective action processes
- Review daily reporting and technician scheduling, including sick time, vacation time, personal time, and holiday time
- Ensure customer files and contact information are updated as needed to remain compliant with licensing requirements
- Lead department meetings and in-service training for pharmacy technicians
- Recommend improvements to operating procedures to support efficient pharmacy operations and customer service
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of Kentucky, in good standing with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy
- Ability to provide scanned copies of current license and/or certification at the time of candidate submission
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, services, medication dispensing, and drug interactions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to resolve customer issues professionally and creatively to improve satisfaction
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Work Environment
This opportunity may be available onsite in Kentucky or remotely, depending on candidate location and business needs. Pharmacists must be available to work 8-hour shifts scheduled within the pharmacy's operating hours of 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern.
