Position- Pharmacist
Location- Fully Remote
Contract: 06+ Months (Contract with extension potential)
Shift- Monday-Friday 9:30am-6pm local time zone or Sunday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm local time zone and M-F 930am-6pm local time, training (5 weeks) M-F 8am-430pm CT
Position Summary
• The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescriptions and coordinating clinical services for specialty medications at the branch location.
• This role involves close collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care, accurate medication dispensing, and effective communication with patients and providers.
• The Pharmacist will also manage prescription adjudication processes and support overall pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Review patient profiles, including drug interactions, allergies, sensitivities, and medication history.
• Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness; determine if physician clarification is required.
• Coordinate therapeutic interventions and contact physicians for prescription-related clarifications or concerns.
• Accurately enter prescriptions into the pharmacy system.
• Dispense medications and perform final verification checks to ensure accuracy and proper dosage.
• Handle incoming patient inquiries related to medications and provide appropriate guidance.
• Assist with physician communications and follow-ups as needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, controlled substance regulations, and hazardous drug disposal procedures.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team members to maintain workflow efficiency and prescription accuracy.
• Perform compounding and translate prescriptions as required.
• Manage and resolve orders through the External Adjudication (EA) queue.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers via phone or written correspondence.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing (state-specific).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacist.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous pharmacy experience in retail or hospital settings.
• Experience in home infusion therapy.
• At least 1 year of hands-on pharmacy experience in a retail or hospital environment.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
