We are seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacist to provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services in a hospital setting. The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing medication orders, ensuring safe and effective medication therapy, managing pharmaceutical inventory, maintaining regulatory compliance, and collaborating with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience and a strong commitment to patient safety.
Review and verify inpatient medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety.
Dispense medications and provide pharmaceutical care in accordance with hospital policies and state/federal regulations.
Provide drug information and clinical support to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Verify patients' home medications and assist with medication reconciliation.
Maintain pharmacy inventory, including Omnicell systems, crash carts, emergency medication kits, and controlled substances.
Monitor medication storage, procurement, distribution, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and quality assurance programs.
Resolve medication discrepancies and maintain accurate purchasing, billing, and inventory records.
Participate in on-call coverage and provide weekend emergency retail pharmacy services as assigned.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication use.
Current Pharmacist license in the applicable state (or eligibility to obtain).
Minimum recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the last 3 years is required.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medication safety, and pharmaceutical regulations.
Experience with automated dispensing systems (e.g., Omnicell) and electronic medical records preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and participate in on-call and weekend coverage as needed.
