JOB SUMMARYPrimary Purpose: Assist the Coordinator in guiding the overall performance of the child care center through strategic planning, evaluation of employees and implementation of programs. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Key Area of Responsibility # 1: Supervision Essential Function Yes:X No: Percentage of Time Key Tasks: Assist the Director in supervising Child Care staff in all aspects of center operations. Assist the Director in implementing a plan of action to ensure a safe and clean Child Care facility for members and their children. On Call during child care centers operation hours except on holidays when the center is closed. Respect confidentiality of staff, parents, and children. Report any suspicion or incidence of child abuse to Department of Children and Families Abuse Registry. Evaluate and recommend any changes necessary to maintain a safe and healthy environment. F Meets with staff on a monthly basis to dispense pertinent information in regards to facility, and job duties and any other significant information. Key Area of Responsibility # 2: Education Essential Function Yes:X No: Percentage of Time Key Tasks: Attend conferences and seminars to stay up-to-date on new treads and policies in child care safety. Educate and train child care attendants on changes. Evaluate and review new trends that would be appropriate for facility in safety, cleanliness, age appropriate programs and child care safety. Assist the Director in planning, developing and implementing policies and procedures on injuries/illnesses/incidents which occur in the Child Care Center. Key Area of Responsibility # 3: Administration Essential Function Yes:X No: Percentage of Time Key Tasks: Liaison between parents and management of facility. Assist the coordinator in preparation of strategic plan. Interview potential employees for center. JOB SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Education: Minimum: AA Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education. Or currently enrolled in a program to obtain a degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or 3-5 years experience working in a childcare environment, classroom, daycare. Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification Preferred: B.S. Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education. Or currently enrolled in a program to obtain a degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or 3-5 years experience working in a childcare environment, classroom, daycare. Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification Experience: Minimum: 3 years Job-Related ExperiencePreferred: 5 years Job-Related Experience REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports to: Child Care CoordinatorReporting to this position: Child Care Attendants .
