Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:
(Modified) Purdue University Fort Wayne is currently seeking a full-time, onsite Athletic Trainer II in our Athletics department. This position works with the Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine, the athletic training staff and team physicians to deliver a high level of athletic health care for division one intercollegiate athletes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluation of acute and chronic athletic injuries
- Assist team physicians in athletic injuries
- Maintain ATR and work space cleanliness
- Develop and implement injury prevention strategies
- Practice and game medical coverage
- Acute treatment of athletic injuries
- Implement emergency action plans as needed
- Appropriately apply therapeutic modalities to student-athletes
- Develop and execute injury specific rehabilitation plans
- Assist with supply inventory and ordering
- File insurance claims for athletic injuries
- Maintain detailed medical records of student-athletes
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training or a related field. Applicants with a Spring 2026 graduation date will be considered. Any offer will be contingent upon graduation and certification
- 0-1-year experience in sports medicine, physical therapy and/or athletic training.
- MAT from CAATE accredited athletic training education program.
- NATA-BOC certification and Indiana Athletic Training License, Indiana Physical Therapy License if employee has Physical Therapy degree.
- Must be able to carry and lift coolers of ice, water, and medical equipment.
- Must have a valid driver's license and remain in compliance with the Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check policy.
- Must have weekend availability with frequent travel flexibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Athletic Training or a related field. Applicants with a Spring 2026 graduation date will be considered. Any offer will be contingent upon graduation and certification
