Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Medical Fitness, the Personal Trainer is responsible for assessing their clients' physical
fitness level, abilities, and goals. The personal trainer designs and implements a personalized exercise program and provides
instruction, motivation, and support. They are responsible for the demonstration of proper exercise techniques, ensuring
appropriateness and effectiveness. Responsibilities also include ensuring a safe environment for workouts, policy enforcement,
record keeping, and delivering excellent customer service at all times.
Education
Specific certification in personal training required from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying
Agencies (NCCA), including, but not limited to: ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, NETA, ISFTA, AFAA. The Pilates Reformer Personal
Trainer position must be certified by an ITTAP (International Teacher Training Accreditation for Pilates) accredited certification
program with a minimum of 300 hours training in lieu of personal training certification. Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a
related field is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year as a personal trainer required. Experience in the assessment of clients' physical fitness level and
abilities and personalized exercise program design required. Experience working with a diverse population of clients in private,
semi-private, and a small group setting preferred. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
