The Permit and Compliance Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the permitting processesfor right-of-way and new residential construction projects. This position ensures regulatory compliance by overseeing the review and tracking of permits, conducting thorough inspections of private development and capital construction projects, and maintaining accurate records. By facilitating seamless permitting and enforcement processes, this role helps uphold the District's standards for community development. This is a field-focused position that includes regular site visits, inspections, permit tracking, coordination with developers and contractors, and maintenance of accurate project and compliance records. The Permit & Compliance Coordinator serves as an important resource in helping move projects forward while protecting the quality and integrity of District infrastructure.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and proactive professional who enjoys balancing fieldwork, project coordination, and public-facing service. They are comfortable interpreting plans and specifications, working collaboratively with contractors, consultants, developers, and staff, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The strongest candidates will bring experience in permitting, inspections, construction coordination, or compliance work, along with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to accountability, safety, and high-quality service.
Education: Associates degree. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, public administration, environmental science, or a related field (preferred). Experience: Experience with municipal permitting processes is desirable. Knowledge of roadway, water, sewer, and stormwater construction practices is desirable. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and permits. License: Valid Colorado driver's license required.
