GENERAL SUMMARY
To perform a wide variety of clerical duties in support of the Building Division, including permit processing, maintenance of records, correspondence, drawings, information intake, maintain databases and files, and provide professional, efficient public service assistance to the general public.
SUPERVISION
Office Manager provides general supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
One year of clerical experience requiring public contact and the interpretation of rules and regulations.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma / GED
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer telephone calls, emails, and front counter inquiries; effectively respond to questions and concerns in a courteous manner.
- Complete various forms, prepare and maintain forms, records, and processes used by the Building Department.
- Screen and direct calls and public visitors, provide customers with permit information, manage citizen complaints and questions, and refer to appropriate department staff members for resolution.
- Provide invoices for permit fees and process payment receipts.
- Operate a variety of office equipment, including computers, facsimile and photocopy.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
