Job Title: Inpatient Psychiatrist (Permanent Position)
Location: Georgetown, Delaware
Position Overview:
SUN Behavioral Health Delaware is seeking a dedicated and experienced Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team in historic Georgetown, DE. This full-time, permanent role offers a weekday schedule with no call or weekend commitments, providing an excellent work-life balance while delivering essential psychiatric care in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric services in a 99-bed facility, supporting a diverse patient population.
- Manage an average of 18 patients daily, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and stabilization of various mental health conditions.
- Conduct individual and group therapy as needed, with proficiency in handling medication management, including pharmacotherapy and involuntary commitments.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of advanced practice providers, psychologists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain thorough documentation within Wellsky Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Participate in weekly phone on-call rotations, with a focus on maintaining high-quality patient care and safety.
- Support the treatment of patients with diverse disorders, including anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, developmental conditions, psychosis, substance use disorders, and trauma-related disorders.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
- DEA certification required.
- Must have familiarity with involuntary commitment procedures and psychopharmacology.
- Prior inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Active permanent interest in employment; locum tenens applications will not be considered.
